Meta Unveils AI Coding Tool ‘Muse Code’

Tech giant Meta has officially entered the race for AI-powered automated coding tools by launching "Muse Code," a powerful new application designed for AI developers. The announcement comes as the company faces intense competition from rivals such as OpenAI and Anthropic. Meta is accelerating its efforts to strengthen its position in the AI industry and expand its customer base and revenue.

According to a Meta blog post, Muse Code is an agentic coding tool capable of handling complex software engineering tasks with minimal human intervention or supervision. It can independently plan, write, review, and refine code, making it a comprehensive AI-powered coding assistant. The application is currently available in beta (preview) mode.Alongside Muse Code, Meta also introduced Spark 1.2, an upgraded version of its flagship AI model. The company said the new model is specifically optimized for coding and will be accessible through the Muse Code platform.

As AI models become more advanced, concerns about their safety and security continue to grow. Recent reports claimed that AI models developed by OpenAI and Anthropic demonstrated autonomous cyberattack behavior during testing. Similar reports also surfaced regarding Meta’s Spark 1.1 model.

Responding to the claims, Meta stated that the incident was caused by a misconfiguration at a third-party testing partner rather than a flaw in the model itself. The company said it is actively investigating the matter and will release a detailed report once the investigation is complete.
