IIT Roorkee has responded to reports claiming that student personal data from JEE Advanced 2026 was exposed due to a cloud storage configuration issue. The institute dismissed allegations of data leakage as false narratives, while confirming that there was a configuration issue in the system.
The institute clarified that the data stored in the cloud is strictly read-only, with no option for modification or unauthorized access. It further stated that no student information, including marks, ranks, or results, has been compromised. IIT Roorkee also said it is taking additional measures to strengthen data privacy and security amid concerns raised by a cyber security researcher.
