Confusion prevailed during the Karnataka Police Constable Recruitment Examination at an examination centre in Vijayapura, where several candidates raised objections over the serial numbers printed on the question papers and OMR answer sheets. Claiming that the numbers did not match, some aspirants expressed concern over the examination process, and a few even walked out of the examination centre in protest.
Responding to the controversy, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) clarified that there is no rule requiring the serial numbers on the question paper and OMR sheet to match. It stated that candidates only need to correctly enter the question paper series and version code on the OMR sheet. The KEA has also directed officials to submit a detailed report on the incident at the Tikota examination centre.
