Orange Alert for North Andhra as Lightning Threat Looms

The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority has issued an orange alert for six districts in North Andhra, warning of lightning activity and moderate rainfall over the next three hours. The alert covers Srikakulam, Parvathipuram Manyam, Vizianagaram, Alluri Sitharama Raju, Anakapalli and Kakinada districts, where isolated thunderstorms are likely to occur.

Officials have advised residents to remain vigilant, avoid taking shelter under trees or standing in open fields during thunderstorms, and limit outdoor movement unless absolutely necessary. The disaster management authority said it is closely monitoring the weather situation and urged the public to follow official advisories to ensure their safety.
