The PanIIT Andhra Pradesh Summit 2026 in Vijayawada has unveiled a declaration aimed at developing Amaravati as a major DeepTech and innovation hub. The Andhra Pradesh government and PanIIT Alumni India have signed the declaration, which proposes establishing a permanent PanIIT Amaravati Council to serve as a nodal institution for DeepTech development. A ₹500-crore PanIIT Amaravati Venture Fund is also planned to support startups, innovation and investments in the state.
The declaration outlines technology-transfer initiatives involving all 23 IITs, along with 10 industry chairs and a 100-member global IIT mentor network to support entrepreneurs and startups. The state aims to incubate at least 50 startups by 2030 and attract investments in areas including Quantum-AI, semiconductors, space and defence, healthcare, AgriTech and the blue-water economy. Ten universities in Andhra Pradesh are also proposed to be linked with the PanIIT ecosystem, with the broader objective of strengthening technology transfer, DeepTech research and the startup ecosystem in Amaravati.
