Pawan Kalyan Pushes Faster Jal Jeevan Mission Works

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has directed officials to accelerate Jal Jeevan Mission works in areas facing severe water shortages. During a review meeting on projects in the combined East and West Godavari districts, he said the Amarajeevi Jaladhara project would provide a permanent drinking water solution for coastal villages and help meet the needs of nearly 33 lakh people. He instructed officials to complete key construction works within the planned timelines.

The review covered the progress of intake wells, water treatment plants, reservoirs and pipeline construction under projects worth Rs. 3,050 crore. In East Godavari, a Rs. 1,650 crore mega water grid project is being developed to supply drinking water to around 20 lakh people across 10 constituencies, with 182 km of pipelines already completed. In West Godavari, another Rs. 1,400 crore project aims to benefit around 13.5 lakh people, with nearly 400 km of pipeline works completed under both projects.
