Former Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan’s residence was targeted in a shocking petrol bomb attack, creating panic in the area. According to local media, unidentified miscreants arrived on motorcycles and hurled petrol bombs at his house around 9 PM on Wednesday night. The attack is reportedly linked to Shakib’s virtual participation in a recent press conference held by former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Fortunately, no family members were present at the house during the incident, preventing any casualties.
Locals quickly responded to the loud explosions and managed to douse the flames, avoiding major property damage. Police have since deployed security personnel at the residence to prevent further incidents. Meanwhile, Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed launched sharp criticism against the current situation in Bangladesh, alleging political repression and warning that the country is turning into “another Pakistan” near India’s eastern borders. He also raised concerns over the role of foreign intelligence agencies in Bangladesh’s internal affairs.
