A shocking murder has been reported from Kothamurumulla village in I. Polavaram mandal of Ambedkar Konaseema District. Aqua farmer Datla Ramakrishna Raju (68) was allegedly killed by workers employed at his fish pond. According to police, the accused attacked him with a large stone following a dispute related to work at the pond. After the murder, they reportedly tied the same stone to his body and dumped it into the pond in an attempt to conceal the crime.
Police said four workers from Odisha, who were staying at the pond site and working as caretakers, were involved in the incident. Preliminary investigations suggest that an argument between the farmer and the workers escalated into violence. The accused were allegedly under the influence of ganja at the time of the attack. While attempting to flee the area, the four suspects were apprehended near Kakinada. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway, police officials said.
