

A protest led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) was held at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on Thursday, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and a halt to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Activists from various organisations displayed placards and raised slogans against the central government and the Election Commission. Actor Prakash Raj called for Kumar’s immediate resignation, alleging that the democratic system had been undermined. CJP founder Abhijit Deepke said the agitation would move to Delhi’s Jantar Mantar from Saturday and continue until their demands were met. He added that the movement aimed to bring fundamental changes to the electoral system.
Separately, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy responded to comments by Elon Musk concerning India’s approval process for satellite internet services. Musk had posted on X questioning whether Mukesh Ambani was the real power behind decisions in India. Responding on the platform, Revanth Reddy said India should welcome innovative solutions in advanced internet technologies. However, he added that the country should not tolerate actions that weaken Brand India’s global standing to protect the interests of a few. The exchange comes amid discussion over satellite internet services and the regulatory environment for technology companies operating in India.
