Rahul Gandhi Criticises Police Lathi Charge Again

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has once again criticised the police action during a students’ march towards Parliament. In a post on X, he alleged that students were subjected to excessive force, including the use of pellet guns, spiked batons and tear gas. He claimed that peaceful protesters, including young women, were attacked and that several people suffered injuries and fractures. Rahul Gandhi accused the Modi government of treating students who raised questions in an “uncivilised” manner.

Rahul Gandhi also questioned the absence of the Home Minister from Parliament despite the ongoing sessions and alleged that opposition motions seeking a discussion on the use of force against students were rejected. He said the government’s silence amounted to acceptance of the violence and alleged that those responsible were either guilty or incompetent. The Congress leader demanded a Supreme Court-monitored investigation and said the opposition’s fight would continue until the matter is investigated.
