Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao has criticised Rahul Gandhi and Congress leaders over their allegations concerning the Election Commission of India and the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Speaking at the BJP state office, Rao said the opposition was creating confusion among the public over Form-6, Form-7 and the voter-list revision process. The BJP has maintained that Form-7 applications do not automatically result in deletion of names and that the prescribed verification process has to be followed.
Rao also questioned Congress leaders’ claims regarding voter deletions, EVMs and the functioning of the Election Commission, asking them to provide evidence for their allegations. He referred to the party’s earlier demands for removal of fake, duplicate and ineligible entries from electoral rolls and argued that voter-list verification should not be portrayed as a political conspiracy. His remarks come amid an escalating political dispute over SIR and alleged misuse of Form-7 applications in Telangana.
