Telangana Government Junior Colleges have registered a record 85,453 admissions to Intermediate First Year for the 2026–27 academic year, reflecting a 14 percent increase compared to the previous year. The total student strength across First and Second Year Intermediate courses has now reached 1,64,730, highlighting growing confidence in the state-run education system.
Officials said the rise in admissions is driven by improved academic standards, modern infrastructure, free meal facilities and industry-oriented skill development initiatives. Collaborations with leading organisations such as IBM and Hetero are helping students gain practical skills and better employment opportunities, making government junior colleges an increasingly preferred choice.
