RTC JAC Seeks Stronger Public Transport

The RTC Joint Action Committee (JAC) has urged the Andhra Pradesh government to take immediate steps to strengthen the state run transport corporation. The JAC demanded that the government withdraw its decision to operate private electric buses and instead entrust the operation of electric buses to APSRTC. It also called for increasing the number of women centric Shakti buses and filling long-pending vacant posts in the corporation.

Ahead of Monday's discussions with the RTC management, the JAC held an emergency meeting at its Vijayawada office. Representatives from various districts participated through an audio conference to finalize their demands. The JAC announced that it would submit over 30 demands to the management, focusing on improving RTC services, employee welfare, and strengthening the corporation.
