Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said the SABAR (Amul) Dairy Mega Integrated Dairy Plant being established at Toopran in Medak district would provide better market opportunities for dairy farmers and strengthen the state’s dairy processing sector. He made the remarks after performing the bhoomi puja for the plant, which is being set up with an investment of ₹400 crore at the Oorja Industrial Park. He described the project as a key milestone for dairy processing in Telangana and said it reflected growing investor confidence in the state under the Invest Telangana and Telangana Rising-2047 initiatives.
The plant will initially have a milk processing capacity of five lakh litres per day and is expected to provide direct employment to around 350 people while benefiting nearly 10,000 dairy farmers through milk collection, transportation, processing and distribution activities. The facility will produce milk, curd, paneer, ice cream, lassi, ghee, buttermilk and bakery products, creating wider market opportunities for farmers. Sridhar Babu said the project could help develop a complete dairy ecosystem covering milk collection, transportation, processing, cold chain, packaging, distribution, retail and allied services, and assured continued support for investments that strengthen agriculture, food processing, rural employment and farmer-led value networks.
