Security arrangements have been intensified at the Annamalaiyar Temple in Tiruvannamalai ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s scheduled visit. A three-tier security system involving around 1,500 police personnel has reportedly been put in place around the temple premises.
Amid the heightened security, two Hyderabad residents, identified as Pavunish and Mahesh, were reportedly caught attempting to photograph the presiding deities, Lord Annamalaiyar and Goddess Unnamulai Amman, using cameras embedded in their spectacles. After receiving information about the incident, temple officials took the two men to the administrative office, confiscated the camera-equipped glasses and their mobile phones, and handed them over to the police. The police are questioning the duo as part of their investigation. The incident has raised concerns as it reportedly occurred amid extensive security arrangements for the Union Home Minister’s visit.
