Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the concluding events of the ‘Seva Sankalp Yatra’, organised to mark his 25 years as the head of a government. Recalling October 7, 2001, when he took charge as Gujarat Chief Minister, Modi said he had never imagined that his public journey would reach this stage. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the people for 25 years and thanked the people of the country for their continued trust, as well as his NDA allies. He said he bowed to the people of India with gratitude.
Earlier in the day, Modi offered prayers at the Shri Vinayaka Mandir in Delhi. He said he had prayed for the well-being of all citizens and sought divine strength to continue serving the people. Describing the people as a manifestation of God, Modi said the country had given him a great deal and therefore the nation would always remain his first priority. The remarks came as programmes marking his 25-year public service journey were being held across the country.
