Sharmila Alleges ‘Seat Chori’ After Nomination Rejection

Y. S. Sharmila strongly criticized the rejection of Meenakshi Natarajan's Rajya Sabha nomination, alleging that democratic institutions are being misused for political purposes. She remarked that the issue has moved from "Vote Chori" to "Seat Chori" and accused the Election Commission of acting in a manner that benefits the ruling establishment.

Sharmila stated that democracy depends on strong and independent institutions and warned that public trust could be weakened if constitutional bodies are perceived as serving political interests. She demanded that the Election Commission clearly explain the reasons behind the rejection of Meenakshi Natarajan's nomination and called on people across the country to raise their voices in defense of democratic values and constitutional institutions.
