The Central Electricity Authority (CEC) has reported a sharp decline in coal reserves in Telangana, stating that only about 24% of the required stock is currently available. The report highlighted severe shortages at the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant, where coal supply has fallen significantly below daily requirements, affecting power generation. It also noted that Singareni’s coal output has dropped to a five-year low.
According to the report, Telangana has the lowest coal reserves in the country at present. The shortage has severely impacted thermal power generation, especially at the Yadadri plant. The CEC has directed Singareni authorities to increase coal supply to meet demand. The report also mentioned that production data was reportedly removed from the company’s website amid declining output.
