Smart Ration Cards for Telangana Beneficiaries on Independence Day Eve, State Cabinet Decides

The Telangana Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat, has taken several key decisions. As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the government will launch the distribution of smart ration cards to all 3.42 crore ration beneficiaries in the state. The government said 62 lakh new beneficiaries were added after it came to power, taking the total number of ration beneficiaries from 2.81 crore to 3.42 crore.

The Cabinet also decided to conduct Telangana Rising Global Summit 2.0 from December 7 to 9 with an “Invest Telangana” theme and plans to unveil the Bharat Future City vision. It approved measures to promote seven varieties of fine paddy, sell 17.54 lakh metric tonnes of surplus paddy through e-auction at a basic price of Rs. 2,389 per quintal, and bring ITIs, ATCs and polytechnic colleges under Young India Skills University. New Young India Integrated Residential Schools were approved in seven constituencies. The Cabinet also approved a Rs. 200 crore scheme to convert petrol and diesel auto-rickshaws into EVs, extended the HILT policy application deadline to October 31, sanctioned Rs. 2,100 crore for the Makthal-Narayanpet-Kodangal Lift Irrigation Phase-II project and approved steps to increase the Gudendoddi Pumped Storage Project capacity.
