Actor Sonu Sood has responded to the recent Flydubai cockpit incident, calling for airlines to consider additional emergency safety measures for cockpit access. In a post on X, he said the latest incidents are a reminder that aviation safety must continuously evolve. Sood suggested exploring a secure emergency mechanism that could allow authorised crew members outside the cockpit to assist if pilots become unable to open the cockpit door during a critical situation.
Sood proposed that airlines could consider keeping a securely sealed emergency access code with a designated crew member outside the cockpit, with strict safeguards to ensure it is used only during genuine emergencies. His comments come after a Flydubai flight travelling from Dubai to Israel was forced to make an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia following an alleged confrontation inside the cockpit. Reports said the co-pilot allegedly attempted to bring down the aircraft and injured the captain, triggering international concern over aviation security.
