The Supreme Court has granted interim relief to the Telangana Government Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) in the long-pending dispute over 46 acres of land at Raidurg in Hyderabad. The apex court directed that the status quo regarding the land survey be maintained for one week. However, it made it clear that there would be no stay on the proposed survey or auction proceedings. TGIIC argued before the court that the High Court had passed its earlier order without hearing its submissions.
The Supreme Court permitted TGIIC to implead itself in the proceedings before the High Court and raise its objections. It also instructed the High Court to dispose of the main writ petition, which has remained pending since 2016, within three months. The order is expected to expedite the legal process while ensuring that all concerned parties receive an opportunity to present their arguments before a final decision is taken.
