The Supreme Court has taken up the issue concerning the allocation of space for the 135-year-old Central Secretariat Library in the new Central Vista. The court has issued notice to the Centre and directed the government to file an affidavit within three weeks on the proposed space for the library.
The Supreme Court has specifically asked the Centre to clarify in its affidavit whether the space allocated at the new location would be sufficient to store the library’s books. The court’s intervention focuses on ensuring adequate space for the library’s extensive collection and resources.
