Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Writes to PM Modi on Godavari–Cauvery Project

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging the Centre to expedite the Godavari–Cauvery–Gundar river linking project. He said the project would provide a long-term solution to irrigation and drinking water needs in Tamil Nadu while ensuring the effective utilisation of surplus Godavari waters.

In his letter, Vijay stated that the project would benefit not only Tamil Nadu but also Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. He emphasized that the river-linking initiative would strengthen water resource management, improve irrigation, and enhance water security across multiple states, urging the Central Government to fast-track its implementation.
