Telangana Expands Rural Healthcare Services

Telangana IT, Industries and Legislative Affairs Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said the state government is taking special measures to provide quality healthcare services in remote areas. On Friday, he inaugurated a free cancer and eye screening camp at Mahadevpur Community Hospital with the support of IDBI Bank, M.N.J. Hospital, Hyderabad, and Omega Hospital, Karimnagar. He said the government is preparing a statewide plan to conduct cervical cancer screening for women to detect the disease at an early stage and reduce the financial burden on poor families.

The minister stated that the government is strengthening rural healthcare by introducing Health ATMs, ECG facilities, perimeter tests, and advanced medical equipment. He announced that the dilapidated Mahadevpur Community Hospital would be rebuilt with modern facilities. Another free health camp will be conducted on August 4 under the supervision of M.N.J. Hospital. Sridhar Babu also revealed that free eye surgeries had been performed for 680 people in the Kataram Division and treatment had been provided to nearly 45,000 people across the Manthani constituency.
