The Telangana government is considering special incentives to promote rice exports as part of its vision to transform the state into a global rice export hub. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy said the government is committed to strengthening the rice export ecosystem and expanding the state's presence in international markets.
The minister stressed that value addition to rice, including fortified and multivitamin rice, would help farmers earn higher incomes. He also stated that the government would extend full support to rice exporters. During the recent Yasangi season, Telangana procured 8.1 million metric tonnes of paddy, reinforcing its position as a surplus rice-producing state with a strong focus on improving farmers' livelihoods.
