Telangana Farmer Insurance Scheme Hits Major Delay

The farmer insurance scheme in Telangana has been delayed as the government has not paid LIC a premium of ₹441.23 crore. Due to the pending payment, LIC has kept 7,606 insurance claims on hold, affecting farmers who are waiting for compensation.

Officials stated that if the pending premium is cleared immediately, around 3,919 claims worth ₹195 crore could be processed by August 14. The delay has raised concerns among farmers relying on timely insurance support.
