

Telangana Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao has directed officials to organise Bathukamma celebrations on a grand scale across the state, highlighting the festival’s significance as a symbol of Telangana’s culture and traditions. He instructed departments to make elaborate arrangements in cities, towns and villages to ensure that the festivities are celebrated with enthusiasm. Special attention has been directed towards the Saddula Bathukamma celebrations at Hyderabad’s Tank Bund, with all concerned departments asked to coordinate their efforts for the successful conduct of the event. The minister issued these instructions during a review meeting held on Sunday at Tourism Plaza in Begumpet, Hyderabad, to assess preparations for the festival.
Jupally emphasised the importance of bringing Bathukamma’s cultural heritage, connection with nature and traditional way of life closer to the public. He asked officials to encourage large public participation and explore the involvement of prominent personalities and celebrities to promote the festival’s significance. He also directed all departments to prepare in advance, fulfil their assigned responsibilities and ensure that daily programmes proceed smoothly without lapses. Tourism Special Chief Secretary Vani Prasad, Telangana Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director Kranthi Valluri, Tourism Director Lakshman Ranjith Nayak, Language and Culture Department Director Narsimha Reddy, Heritage Department Director Dr Arjun Rao and other officials attended the meeting.
