Telangana’s biggest strength is the skill, talent and global competitiveness of its youth, IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said. Speaking at the DE Shaw India 30th anniversary celebrations held in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, the minister said the state’s skilled workforce has helped Hyderabad emerge as a leading destination in India for technology, innovation, financial services and Global Capability Centres (GCCs). He said DE Shaw’s three-decade journey in Hyderabad reflects the company’s long-term confidence in the city and its talented human resources. Sridhar Babu congratulated DE Shaw Group Managing Directors Eddie Fishman, Anoop Prasad and Neil Katz, along with India Managing Directors Chaitanya Gorrepati and Lakshmi Prasad Koneti and the entire team.
The minister recalled that DE Shaw was among the global financial and technology companies that recognised Hyderabad’s potential early, establishing its first India office in the city in 1996 with around 20 employees. The company has since expanded its operations across Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Gurugram with more than 2,000 employees working in technology, financial research, financial operations and corporate functions. Welcoming DE Shaw’s new office at Neopolis, Sridhar Babu said the expansion reflects the company’s confidence in Hyderabad and Telangana’s growth. He assured the company of continued government support through infrastructure development, skill enhancement, ease of doing business and a stronger innovation ecosystem, adding that Telangana aims to attract more global companies and create high-value employment opportunities.
