Former Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu called upon Telugu people to remain committed to preserving their language, cultural identity and heritage. He said the value of books would never diminish despite the emergence of multiple modern forms of media, as books capture life experiences and deeper truths. He stressed the need to preserve the knowledge, culture, traditions and heritage passed down by previous generations. Venkaiah Naidu was the chief guest at the ‘International Inkbound 2.0’ event held at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad on Saturday, organised by Kasturi Vijaya Publications. During the programme, books including ‘Avemaina Jnapakala.. Marchipovadanika?’, ‘Screenplay Master - Sukumar’, ‘Ammamma Kathala Khajana’ and ‘Grandma Golden Tales’ were unveiled.
Venkaiah Naidu urged people to move away from the mindset that only the English language is superior. He praised author Vanguri Chitten Raju for capturing beautiful memories and the warmth of human relationships at a time when life is becoming increasingly mechanical. He said it was particularly encouraging to see ‘Screenplay Master - Sukumar’ released in Telugu, Hindi and English. Referring to classics such as ‘Pathala Bhairavi’, ‘Mayabazar’ and ‘Missamma’, he questioned whether films that could be watched and enjoyed by entire families together were still being made. Clarifying that he was not criticising cinema, he said he was only commenting on changing trends. Writer Vamsi Ram Raju, literary figure Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, poet and actor Tanikella Bharani, US-based Srinivasa Rao and several writers and literature enthusiasts attended the event.
