Ramalakshmi, the temple elephant of the Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram, has become a social media sensation after a video of her enjoying filter coffee went viral. The incident took place on Thursday night during the Ashada month festivities at the temple. As part of the celebrations, a procession of Goddess Parvathavardhini was held, with Ramalakshmi walking in front of the deity.

During the procession on the South Mada Street, a devotee offered filter coffee to the elephant. Her mahout, Ramu, helped Ramalakshmi drink it, and the elephant appeared to relish the beverage. Devotees who witnessed the unusual moment recorded it on their mobile phones, and the video has since attracted widespread attention on social media.
