Tense situations were reported during former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to Devarapalli. According to reports, a large number of YSRCP supporters rushed towards the helipad, resulting in barricades being broken and pushing incidents. Locals also alleged that some party workers rode motorcycles at high speed, performed stunts, and created loud noise by removing silencers, causing inconvenience to commuters and nearby shopkeepers. Traffic near the Devarapalli bus stand was reportedly disrupted for nearly two hours.
Meanwhile, a verbal argument reportedly took place between police personnel and YSRCP workers near the tobacco auction centre. YSRCP leaders alleged that inadequate security arrangements at the helipad allowed supporters to reach close to the helicopter, raising concerns over security lapses. The party also claimed that police prevented people from entering the meeting venue by erecting barricades, leading to arguments and tension. An official statement from the authorities is awaited.
