Former US President Donald Trump has once again reignited the controversy surrounding the G7 Summit by making fresh remarks about Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Although Meloni had previously denied Trump’s claim that she repeatedly requested a photograph with him during the summit, Trump revisited the issue in a new post on his social media platform, Truth Social.
In his post, Trump alleged that Meloni repeatedly asked for a photo during the summit held in France and claimed that her popularity in Italy is declining. He also criticized her stance on preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons and accused NATO allies of not providing adequate support to the United States despite receiving significant security assistance. Trump further stated that Meloni is now seeking closer ties with the US after America’s actions against Iran strengthened its global position.
