Ukraine has described India’s proposal for a possible ceasefire with Russia as the most comprehensive among four proposals received by Kyiv. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said the other proposals came from the United States, Egypt and Türkiye. He said Ukraine is ready to consider different ceasefire formats, including an energy and Black Sea truce, provided attacks on energy and port infrastructure are also halted.
According to Sybiha, India’s proposal covers a broader set of issues, including stopping attacks on energy and port infrastructure and ensuring the safe movement of grain and other goods through the Black Sea. He also said Kyiv is open to considering a broader ceasefire along the frontline. The remarks came after Russian President Vladimir Putin said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has “very good ideas” for finding a mutually acceptable solution to the conflict.
