The United States is considering a proposal to expand the 9-11 Response Entry-Exit Fee framework, which could bring additional charges for H-1B and L-1B visa renewals as well. The proposed change is expected to impact petitions filed by large companies, adding a new financial requirement for employers and foreign professionals seeking continued work authorization in the US.
At present, these fees are mainly applicable during new visa petitions and certain employer change cases. If the proposal moves forward, renewal applications may also come under the fee structure, potentially affecting companies that regularly hire skilled foreign workers through H-1B and L-1B programmes.
