US Vice President JD Vance travelled with his wife Usha Vance and their children to Anchorage, Alaska, to attend a Republican National Committee rally supporting Republican Senator Dan Sullivan’s re-election campaign. Sullivan is seeking another term against Democrat Mary Peltola. The campaign event was part of the Republican effort ahead of the US midterm elections. The trip also marked Usha Vance’s visit to her 50th US state.
During the journey, Usha Vance reportedly stumbled while travelling with the family, prompting criticism of the staff members who were standing nearby. Critics questioned why those around her did not appear to make an immediate attempt to assist her. According to the report cited in the source, the Vance family’s journey to Alaska lasted around 7.5 hours. Usha was also travelling with their nine-week-old baby, making the lengthy trip particularly tiring. The Vances have four children, including Alec, who was born in July 2026.
