

A Varuna Yagam has commenced on the banks of the Krishna River at Vijay Vihar in Nagarjuna Sagar, Nalgonda district. The ritual is being conducted with prayers for the welfare of the people, abundant rainfall and a prosperous, green state. State Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and his wife Padmavathi Reddy inaugurated the yagam. At the beginning of the ceremony, the priests performed Go Puja and Vishvaksena Puja, followed by the ceremonial entry into the yagashala as per tradition.
Endowments Department Commissioner Hanumanth Rao, Nalgonda District Collector B. Chandrasekhar, Yadagirigutta EO Bhavani Shankar, the Deputy EO and other officials from the Endowments Department attended the event. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is scheduled to participate in the Purnahuti ceremony in the afternoon. The yagam is being conducted with prayers for good rainfall and adequate water availability for agriculture and public needs across Telangana.
