Weather Department issues yellow alert for Andhra Pradesh

The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rainfall in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh. A yellow alert has been issued for Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Bapatla, Palnadu, and Prakasam districts for the next 24 hours. Officials said a trough extends from Coastal Andhra through Telangana up to central Maharashtra.

An upper air circulation has formed over the north-east central Bay of Bengal. Strong winds blowing at speeds of up to 50 kmph are expected along the coastal region, according to weather officials.
