White Gut Disease in Shrimp: Atchannaidu Alerts Officials

Andhra Pradesh Minister Atchannaidu has responded to reports of the ‘White Gut’ disease affecting shrimp. He alerted fisheries department officials and directed them to intensify field-level monitoring. The minister instructed concerned agencies to take immediate preventive and control measures to curb the spread of the disease.

Meanwhile, officials inspected a shrimp pond at Mahadevapatnam in Undi mandal. Samples of shrimp, feed, and water were collected from the farmer’s pond and sent to laboratories in Kaikaluru and Bhimavaram for analysis. The minister also emphasized creating awareness among farmers as per the latest SOP guidelines and assured them not to panic, stating that the government would extend full support.
