

YSR Congress Party chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed grief over the demise of legendary filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao. He said Indian cinema had lost a true pioneer and a visionary known for his innovative approach to filmmaking. Jagan recalled that Singeetam continued making films even at the age of 94, reflecting his deep dedication to cinema. He also praised the filmmaker for exploring diverse genres, from silent cinema to science fiction.
Jagan said Singeetam Srinivasa Rao’s exceptional creativity would continue to inspire generations of filmmakers and artists. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the filmmaker’s family and loved ones and prayed for his soul to rest in peace. Singeetam, who passed away in Chennai at the age of 94, leaves behind a career spanning more than six decades, with acclaimed films including ‘Pushpaka Vimana’, ‘Aditya 369’ and ‘Mayuri’.
