‘Jailer 2’ OTT Rights Sold for a Whopping Price?

Superstar Rajinikanth and director Nelson Dilipkumar’s much-awaited sequel Jailer 2 is generating huge buzz. According to industry reports, Amazon Prime Video has acquired the post-theatrical digital streaming rights for around Rs 160 crore. The first instalment, Jailer, reportedly fetched around Rs 100 crore for its digital rights, making the reported deal for the sequel significantly bigger.

Big OTT Deal Before Theatrical Release

Produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, Jailer 2 is scheduled to hit theatres on October 15. Rajinikanth will reprise his role as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, with S.J. Suryah, Ramya Krishnan and Yogi Babu in key roles. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music, while Vijay Karthik Kannan is handling the cinematography. If the reported OTT deal is confirmed, it could become one of the biggest digital rights deals for a Tamil film.
