Superstar Rajinikanth’s action film Jailer 2 is scheduled to release in theatres on October 16, 2026. Advance ticket bookings opened today across the Nizam region. Preparations are underway for the film’s Telugu pre-release event, which will be held today at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad. Several prominent cast and crew members are expected to attend. However, Rajinikanth is reportedly skipping the event. The production house has not officially revealed the reason for his absence.

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander will deliver a live musical performance at the event. Director Nelson Dilipkumar, producer S. Naga Vamsi and Anirudh will be joined by actors S. J. Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Mirnaa Menon. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film also features Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Hrithik Roshan, Nora Fatehi and Poorna in special roles.
