The Immortal Ashwatthama, the ambitious mythological project planned with Vicky Kaushal and director Aditya Dhar, is once again drawing attention amid uncertainty over its production. Following the success of Uri: The Surgical Strike, audiences expected another major collaboration between the duo. The film was envisioned as a large-scale production featuring mythological elements and advanced visual effects. However, its reported massive budget became a major hurdle, and the project was put on hold. Although several actors were linked to the film over time, reports later suggested that Vicky Kaushal could still lead the project.
Vicky Kaushal is currently busy with multiple films, while Aditya Dhar is reportedly focusing on another project with Ranveer Singh. These developments have fuelled speculation that The Immortal Ashwatthama may not go on floors anytime soon. Vicky’s success with Chhaava has further raised expectations surrounding his upcoming projects, while Dhar is also said to be pursuing new ventures. However, there has been no clear official confirmation that the Ashwatthama film has been permanently shelved or that production has been scheduled. Its future will become clearer only when the makers announce their plans.
