On the occasion of National Immunization Day, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu administered polio drops to children at the Chief Minister's Camp Office as part of the statewide Pulse Polio campaign. The Chief Minister interacted warmly with children and their parents, enquired about their health and vaccination status, and urged families to ensure that children receive all government-recommended vaccines on schedule. Officials from the Health and Family Welfare Department briefed him on the arrangements made for the campaign across the state.
The government has set a target of administering polio drops to nearly 4.92 million children below the age of five during the three-day Pulse Polio campaign beginning today. Speaking with parents from different regions, the Chief Minister stressed that raising children should not be viewed as the sole responsibility of mothers. He said fathers and other family members should actively participate in childcare and emphasized the need to revive the traditional joint family system to provide better support for children's upbringing.
