Jowar (sorghum) is one of the most nutritious millets, rich in fiber, protein, and iron, making it highly beneficial for overall health. Jowar biscuits are a healthy snack option that can be consumed during breakfast or with evening tea. They are both tasty and nutritious, providing long-lasting energy and aiding digestion. Instead of sugar, jaggery can be used for a healthier alternative.
To prepare, mix one cup of jowar flour, half cup wheat flour, half cup jaggery powder, quarter cup ghee or butter, half tablespoon cardamom powder, half teaspoon baking powder, a pinch of salt, one cup milk, and mixed dry fruits. First, combine flours, baking powder, and salt, then add jaggery, cardamom powder, and ghee. Gradually add milk to form a firm dough and rest it for 15 minutes. Roll the dough, cut into biscuit shapes, and bake at 180°C for 10 minutes until golden. These biscuits improve digestion, keep the stomach full for longer, and provide sustained energy throughout the day.
