Buchi Babu Responds to ‘Peddi’ Criticism

Director Buchi Babu addressed the criticism surrounding the portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor’s character in the blockbuster sports action drama Peddi, starring Ram Charan. Speaking at the film’s success celebrations, he said that criticism is inevitable for any major event or project and that such comments represent only a small section of opinions. He revealed that additional scenes featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Jagapathi Babu will be added to the film from Wednesday in theatres.

Buchi Babu emphasized that nearly 95 percent of viewers appreciated the film’s sporting spirit and Ram Charan’s performance, while only a small percentage focused on unrelated issues. Lyricist Anantha Sriram also supported the director, stating that creative freedom is essential in filmmaking and that directors should not be forced to alter their vision due to criticism. The team further stated that reduced ticket prices have boosted audience footfall and strengthened the film’s box-office performance.
