Unlike the first two Hindi instalments, which were remakes of the Malayalam films, the Hindi Drishyam 3 reportedly follows a different story path rather than directly adapting the Malayalam third part. Director Abhishek Pathak has taken the characters and events from the earlier films forward while developing a new screenplay and ending. Ajay Devgn had also previously revealed that he consulted Mohanlal before proceeding with the new story. This difference has made the two versions distinct in terms of their narrative and climax.
At the box office, the Hindi Drishyam 3 is reportedly witnessing a strong response. According to the figures cited in the supplied trade report, the film collected Rs 66.75 crore net in India on its opening day and Rs 53.50 crore net on the second day, taking its two-day India net total to Rs 115.50 crore. Its reported worldwide gross stood at around Rs 177.10 crore in two days. For comparison, the 2015 Hindi Drishyam reportedly earned around Rs 110.40 crore worldwide over its entire run, while Drishyam 2 went on to collect around Rs 342 crore worldwide. Whether Drishyam 3 can challenge the second instalment’s lifetime figure will depend on how strongly it holds in the coming days.
