High Expectations, But Low Collections

Ghatamaneni Jayakrishna, grandson of superstar Krishna and nephew of Mahesh Babu, made his Tollywood debut with Srinivasa Mangapuram. Directed by RX 100 fame Ajay Bhupathi, the film stars Rasha Thadani, daughter of Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, as the female lead. Released worldwide on July 30 with high expectations, the film has reportedly failed to meet audience expectations.

From day one, the movie received mixed to negative reviews, which significantly affected its box office performance. According to Film Nagar sources, it managed to collect only ₹1.25 crore gross worldwide on its opening day. Though the film attempted to present an intense love story set in Tirupati, weak storytelling and an underwhelming second half left audiences disappointed. While Jayakrishna’s performance and action sequences earned some appreciation, critics believe the weak narrative prevented the film from succeeding.
