Hollywood has witnessed a landmark corporate combination as Paramount has completed its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, creating a new global entertainment company named Skydance. The transaction, valued at around $110 billion, brings together two major film studios, global streaming services, television assets and leading news networks. The combined company includes Warner Bros., DC Studios, HBO, HBO Max, CNN, Paramount Pictures, CBS, Nickelodeon and Paramount+, along with a vast library of entertainment content and live sports.
The merger also places several globally recognised franchises under the same corporate umbrella, including Harry Potter, DC, Mission: Impossible, Star Trek and SpongeBob. Skydance has positioned the combination as a major next-generation media and entertainment company, with plans to expand its film and television output while targeting significant cost synergies. The deal is expected to influence Hollywood’s competitive dynamics, content production strategies and the ongoing battle for streaming audiences.
