Environmental volunteer Bittu Tabahi, whose real name is Surendra Singh Choudhary, has expressed deep disappointment after finding the Ajnar River in Madhya Pradesh polluted with garbage once again. Despite spending eight months cleaning the river, he found plastic waste and other rubbish dumped along its banks. He shared a video highlighting the situation and returned to the river to continue removing the waste. His efforts have drawn attention to the recurring problem of garbage disposal in public spaces.
Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut reacted to the video, describing the situation as a “brutal reality” of the country. She criticised people for demanding their rights while neglecting their responsibilities towards society. Although Bittu’s cleanup efforts have received praise online, the return of the waste highlights the need for lasting changes in public behaviour. Despite the setback, he has continued his work and sought suggestions on how to remove the garbage more effectively. The incident has renewed discussion about public participation and the responsibility of citizens to protect rivers and the environment.
