The trailer of Ranabaali, a period action drama starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Rahul Sankrityan, was released on October 8. Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner, the film features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. Scheduled for release on October 16, the film is set against the backdrop of 19th-century Rayalaseema and portrays the hardships faced by people under British rule, including famine and oppression. Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh watched the trailer and praised the team for bringing this historical setting to life.
Lokesh lauded Vijay Deverakonda’s natural and powerful performance, saying the actor appeared deeply connected to the land and spirit of Rayalaseema. He also praised Rashmika Mandanna for bringing life to her character. Congratulating director Rahul Sankrityan and the entire team for bringing an overlooked chapter of history to the screen, Lokesh wished them success ahead of the film’s release. The story is reportedly inspired by historical events between 1854 and 1878 and follows the warrior Singanamala Bobbili Ranabaali, who rises against British exploitation and the suffering caused by hunger and excessive taxation.
